Theese three little beauties are not something that I collect but something friends gave me because I am a Jewler/Watchmaker. They are alcohol buners or lamps. All three are blown three piece mold sheared lip with a patend date of Sept. 14th 1880. They are often mistaken for target balls but the heavy waist mold line used for a fill line and the patent date should give them away. Oh yeah the burner head and stand kinda help. The cobalt one was dug.

Now everyone check your target balls.[sm=lol.gif]

Stunning items Cap [:D] , can't say I've ever seen them before.

I wish I had some Target Ball's to check [:(] , must research some old ranges around Melbourne.

Hey Warren...

Those things are terrific!!! You continue to amaze the bottle world with
your intellect... your insight... your photograph[:D]

Wow, where were they found and yes, I bet a lot of collectors are now checking their "balls" to see if they look like yours...

Great job, thanks... not that I have any...

Very boring aqua, I think you should throw it in it's box and send it to Australia [:D] .

How old is it? the box looks in good nick, any name on the box? Great item.

They came in two sizes. Large for jewelry work and small for watch or jewelry work.

The flame on the large one was to much for watch work.

I guess my home does kinda resemble a museum.

Cowseatmaze...

Yea Eric... Irish is right, that is pretty boring... But it would cost you way too much to send it to Australia, so just bring it to the New England Bottle Show on April 2nd and I'll take it off your hands for you! No sense lugging that thing around cause I only live like 15 minutes away...[:)]

Cool your jets guys they are not worth all that much, so Eric just give it to me.[sm=lol.gif]

Yours is one of the rarer colors Eric. The ones like I have are only worth $40 to $60 depending on the condition and completeness. Mine were all given to me.

Hey Warren...

You might as well bring one with ya then, cause that's just what I can afford![8|] And I'd love to have one... I like the oil lamps... great conversation piece and I think they are kind of unique![:)]

Wayne
