It's American. That size of bottle is called a magnum, it's a large whiskey, usually a quart rather then 1/5 or 1/6. The most prized are the stoddard magnums, which seem to have been where a majority of the ones out there were made. I'm not sure about yours. I'm interested if it's for sale.

If we could get a picture of the base, that would help identify where it may have been made, which I`m pretty sure is here in the USA. Westford & Willington CT and Stoddard made demis very similiar to these, along with lots of other glasshouses too. The base mold markings are the best way to tell. I could tell you if it is Ct but otherwise some of the other people knowledgeable on the other glasshouses might be able to help you out. It`s still a great looking bottle no matter where it was made!
