We have been guessing oil of balm or oil of balsm, but the embossing would be off balance if it is. I'm thinking there is a lot more to it.

We have not finished to pit yet Rick... We'll go back even though I doubt there is anything in it! I would at least like to glue the thing back together if possible...

Interesting medicine. A bit hard to make out the embossing. Could you possibly post a better photo? Does it say OIL or OLL?

That one makes me cry and I did not dig it. If you could find the rest of the pieces it would be an important bottle,glued or not.Good luck on the next dig.

Do you think it had something to do with Bear's Oil type products, the word Russian was tossed around a lot with Bears Oil and other hair products.....just a thought.

that was my first thought, "oil of Bear" or something, and then I saw the A... whatever it had to do with no one seems to know... as of right now it is a previously unknown bottle!
