    Paying taxes on bottle sales

Do the Bottle Auction houses report the amount you receive from selling through them? I'm sure that a certain dollar amount is required by law to be reported, but is that figure for a single bottle sale or cumulative for the entire year? Thanks...Tons

What are you paying for Gas in your area?

An article in the paper this morning said gas prices will 'surge' this week in California. They listed several small reasons, a fire here and power outage there, for the rise in prices. Lately, I've been paying between $4.05 and $4.10 here, although I have seen prices from $3.96 to $4.35. I...

    Mt. Shasta K&L Cure

John W. Cope's Mt. Shasta Kidney and Liver Cure has been on my want list since I first created the list! Very rare cure. I took a big gamble because all four sides and the bottom were encrusted with marine grown. It came from the mud in San Francisco bay. I wasn't sure if the glass under the...

    Weekend Wedding

I have a new son-in-law!! Saturday Wedding and it was a smashing success. I've known Dan for three years and am thrilled to have him in the family. They are both Geeks when not in school or working, so it was a Geek Themed wedding. I marched her down the aisle to the Doctor Who theme. There...

    For RED Mathews

Hi RED - this is the bottle I was telling you about. I'll have it in the mail Monday. It's a Hay's Hair Health. It looks like they tried to smooth down the original mold and re-use it for the same product. Not really sure, but that's why I'm sending it your way. Hope it's something new for...

    ABCR Auction Goodies

ABCR (Australia) is holding another bottle/glass auction. They always have a good selection of Codd Bottles and Ginger Beers, plus interesting Medicines. pickles, and others that we don't see here in the states. Their descriptions are good (this for a $10 Codd): Condition: Fair. Has been...

    Illegal Job Interview Questions

Has anyone here ever been asked for their Facebook password during a job interview? Or been asked questions about age, race, religion or other 'illegal' questions. I read an article this morning about this topic and the comments section was full of people saying it was common practice.

    Ink Well Photo

My Daughter (in Alaska) asked for a picture of an ink well, one that I liked and was a bit unusual. I still don't know what she needs it for. I took and sent this picture along with a couple of pictures from different angles and thought I would share while the film was hot (film??). Enjoy...Ron

Medicine Bottle List - 357 pages

This Medicine Bottle list is from the nps.gov site. It's a PDF file, last updated in 1997, and is 357 pages long. I was able to identify quite a few Kidney Embossed bottles that I do not have. My 'want' list just keeps getting bigger and bigger...

Highest price ever paid for a labeled bottle

There is a Coke Bottle (label only) referenced in the Current Auction and Sales Forum that is listed in eBay for $3,000. I would not touch a labeled bottle for that kind of money, but I have to ask, "What is the highest price you have ever seen paid for a non-embossed, labeled bottle?". Are...
