I remember getting told the story behind the Black and Tan...or more properly called, the Half and Half, if I remember correctly. Only reason I got this is I couldn't afford to get what I really wanted, and this was the cheapest, dark beer I could find at wally world. They do make a Porter by itself, but I have not seen it for sale in my area. I guess half porter will have to do. And it's pretty good too.
That pic looks like the starting of many jokes. 4 guys walk into a bar....
Yuengling makes a good porter for a big brewery. Solid beers all around. I was at a can/brewerania show this wknd and a dealer had an aqua blob "D.G. Yuengling NEW YORK" bottle on his table. Nothing on his tables was priced and he told me it was $150. I don't like when dealers price the person and not the item. So I left it.
we don't find many embossed Yuengling bottles around here. it was originally called the Eagle brewery, hence the Eagle in its logo. there is an amber ladies leg embossed Yuengling on the bottom, but other than that, i don't know of any Yuengling bottles from Pottsville that are BIM embossed.
I have some embossed yuengling bottles ones def pre prob. Slant cursive script sez DG Yuengling Pottsville PA. N a couple aqua crown tops with Yuengling embossed on the shoulder ones dated 32 so it must have been their near bear and had a paper label too. Saw a neat blob on eBay a while back it may be back on now.
