The latest from my weather desk. All is calm over the deep south for now, but storms some with very heavy rainfall, with a few severe ones with large hail will begin on Thursday. They will bring welcome heavy rain to East Central and Eastern Texas. A good general inch to two inches is expected. Further North Eastern Oklahoma and all of Arkansas can expect some severe weather not so much tornadoes but large hail and flooding rains.People in these areas should be on the lookout for flooding.
There are also signs the storms will reload on the weekend in the same area. If this occurs again as it is looking more likely with the passing of time a good dent will have been put into the devastating drought stricken areas of Texas.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for your continued prognosticating of the weather events that impact us. Speaking of which, aren't the Texans dented enough.

There is going to be a lot of rain down there this year Surf. The word drought will be a distant memory by July.

So Steve,

I just noticed we have "more smileys..." now available on the A-BN menu. [sm=rolleyes.gif]

We don't appear to have one for hail.

I'm not so fond of that darned hail.

Charlie,

I'm saying just that. Am I late to the smiley party, again? Has it always been there?

Yes Charlie in two weeks after we have hit 70 a few times over the next two weeks,we are going to have a blast form old man winter for three days around the 21 to 24. The initial cold front will be like the Midwest bout of a couple days ago minus the tornadoes but there will be hail and lightning damage.

Let the games begin, the rains have started rather quickly. There are a couple of sever storms embedded in Oklahoma and Arkansas already. The drought is no more in two months from West Central Texas South and East.

Branden, where you live some serious rain fell yesterday. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/national/weather-radar-24hr Look at the Texas radar from today. http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/south-central/weather-radar?play=true Another good soak-er with yet another coming late Sunday into Monday. The drought will be a distant memory and all those that blamed A.G.W look like fools again. The Sun is in the drivers seat with regards to all of our planets inner workings.Look at what a shift in the magnetic pole at the north end of the earth by 200 to 300 miles can cause. Extreme weather in Europe as evidenced by the brutal winter, and look at Texas last year you couldn't buy a rain shower now there is too much rain.THE SUN with a little help from the Oceans.....................................
