We bought 100 head of lonhorns from Texas last fall. They were rather skinny when they arrived do to the draught, but are full of hay now and are calving like crazy. With the mild weather here they have adjusted wonderfully. They have a totally different attiude than our black angus.
Looks like a nice heard you have Renee. Make sure they are all fattened up and healthy this year because............ Get ready for winter next year it is going to be Brutal I just told my daughter who is attending the University of Wisconsin next year to look out....The term North Pole will be used frequently to describe Wisconsin next year.[]
Too bad I am moving or I would tell your daughter to use us as a home-away-from-home. I will be back and forth though since hubby has to stay up here with his job.
Renee...they are looking good! Hardy beasts, those longhorns.
Thanks Melinda,She is a full fledged cheese head now.
